We are 4 months away from WIC Week, March 5-11, 2017!
Our goal for WIC Week 2017 is to increase the visibility of women in the construction industry. This year we want to boldly acknowledge the successful, hardworking women of our industry, remind employers that women are an asset in construction and make other women aware of the opportunities that are available for them in our exciting and challenging industry.
Our Regional goal in addition to the National goals is to focus on getting women to go and speak to younger generations about the benefits of being a woman in the construction industry. Contacting High Schools, Vo-Tech Schools, Trade Schools and Community colleges to post the WIC Week National Posters or 8-1/2 x 11” print out of the posters with resources on learning more about working in the construction Industry. Include the NAWIC National Website address, Your Chapter Website address and contact information. In addition to the information posting ~ contact the administration about coming in to speak to the students about the many viable career choices that the construction industry offers and how you and your chapter members have successful careers in the Construction Industry.
The National WIC Week Awards are posted on the NAWIC National Website under WIC Week.
We are working on The Northeast Regional WIC Week awards and will be sending out information soon.
Commitment forms are due November 18, 2016.
